Brain Based Optimization
Dr. Tennis is a scholar at Carrick Institute where she is studying to become a Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist. Her approach to Chiropractic is rooted in the foundations of functional neurology, which allows her to view patient complaints from a brain based perspective. The key areas of the brain that coordinate movement are the same areas of the brain that coordinate thoughts, emotions, and other internal functions (such as sleep, digestion, and autonomic function). How we move through space is a window into how our brain is perceiving, integrating, and responding to any given stimulus. Through extensively evaluating eye movements, balance, cognition, reflexes, and the musculoskeletal system, we can identify areas of dysfunction within the nervous system and create a care plan that is specific to each and every patient. Care is focused on utilizing the power of neuroplasticity to create positive neurological changes, optimize the brain’s potential to heal, and facilitate a state of health.
Dr. Tennis offers individualized treatments for sports performance and optimization, cognitive performance and enhancement, chronic pain syndromes, balance disorders, TBI recovery, and more.
