Functional Neurology
Dr. Tennis is a Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist. Her education and understanding of neuroscience allows her to view patient complaints from a brain based perspective. The key areas of the brain that coordinate movement are the same areas of the brain that coordinate thoughts, emotions, and other internal functions (such as sleep, digestion, and autonomic function). How we move through space is a window into how our brain is perceiving, integrating, and responding to any given stimulus. Through extensively evaluating eye movements, balance, cognition, reflexes, and the musculoskeletal system, we can identify areas of dysfunction within the nervous system and create a care plan that is specific to each and every patient. Functional neurology uses specific, non-invasive treatment procedures to rehabilitate nerve cells. Care is focused on utilizing the power of neuroplasticity to create positive neurological changes, optimize the brain’s potential to heal, and facilitate a state of health.
