Cranial Facial Release

Cranial Facial Release (CFR)

CFR utilizes an endonasal procedure that incorporates the use of tiny balloons. These balloons are carefully inserted into the nasopharynx (nose) and quickly inflated to open up the breathing passageways, unlock cranial fixations, and improve the natural biomechanics in the face and cranium. This technique has been adapted from an earlier endonasal adjusting technique that has been used since the 1940’s. CFR couples the endonasal procedure with manual cranial adjusting, light pressure on the head and face, and Chiropractic adjusting procedures to the spine and pelvis. All three of these techniques combined have a unique way of taking tension off the spinal cord and restoring proper function to the central nervous system (CNS).

What can Cranial Facial Release help with?

Cranial Facial Release (CFR) has been shown to have significant improvement in the following conditions people experience:

  • Sleep Apnea
  • Breathing Problems
  • Chronic Sinus Issues
  • Vertigo
  • Snoring
  • Migraines
  • Headaches
  • Post Concussion Syndrome
  • Head Trauma
  • Deviated Septum
  • Bell’s Palsy
  • Learning Disorders
  • Trigeminal Neuralgia

How does CFR work?

CFR works in a variety of different ways, to optimize brain function, endocrine function, and upper respiratory function. The adjustment opens up the breathing passageways and helps restore the natural movement of the cranial bones during respiration. This helps to unlock cranial fixations while improving breathing function and oxygen available to the brain. The process helps to correct cranial distortions and aberrations removing stress and strain on the meningeal system. This shift in the tone of the meningeal system helps relieve pressure off of the brain and spinal cord.

All of this facilitates improved vascular flow to the brain. Through the correction of any torque (rotational tension) in the dura, the Cerebrospinal Fluid's natural rhythm is maintained. Venous drainage from the superior and inferior sagittal sinuses is improved. The lymphatic drainage from the cranium and sinuses is also improved through this procedure.
